TRAZER in the Know

TRAZER in the Know

March 7-11, 2022

How it started

TRAZER was the first device to ever track human movement in free space. More than 20 years ago, you could play TRAZER at Tom Morrow’s Playground at EPCOT in Orlando….or in Walt’s “Living Room of the Future”.

In those days, sensors tracked an infra-red light that the User wore on his waist and the User’s avatar was a funny, spinning top-style robot called Physbot.

How it's going

Today’s TRAZER uses depth measuring 3-D cameras and our proprietary algorithms to track 25 points on the body in free space, with no attachments. Because the User drives TRAZER – not the reverse – it is equally appropriate for Granny on a walker or a professional athlete.

TRAZER uses computer simulation to replicate the functional challenges of sport, work, and activities of daily living while it quantifies core physical and cognitive performance measures. Now, you can select your environment – tennis court, football field, beach and more – your avatar matches you and replicates your movements precisely. If you scratch your head, your avatar scratches his head!

Celebrating our Co-Founder

On International Women's Day 2022, TRAZER is proud to honor our co-founder and VP of Customer Experience and Education, MaryEllen French.

As the user with more TRAZER hours than anyone on the planet and an equal breadth of knowledge and history around movement, performance and Neuromechanics, MaryEllen is a testament to hard work, entrepreneurial spirit and family and we are very lucky to have her as a leader in our company.

Celebrating Athletic Training Month

TRAZER is so fortunate to support and work with so many NATA members in the critical care that they provide in making a difference every day. They are often 1st responders and frequently save lives in their quest to make a meaningful difference.
